Central College Kamuli also known as CCK, started in January 2000 with 53 students in S.1, S.2, S.5, and S.6. The following year 2001, S.3 and S.4 classes were added to make the school fully operational with all the six classes.
The idea to start a secondary school was conceived in 1996 by four University students all pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with Education. They were, Isooba Robert, Namuyondo Vicent Sempa, Byantuyo George and Tirutya Samuel. The group started saving money in a pool from the little allowances the government was paying them as Needy students. Later on, the saved money was invested in the writing and production of Pamphlets. Mr. Sempa wrote and produced CRE P245/2, Isooba Robert wrote Geography P250/1 and Tirutya Samuel produced Geography P250/2. The money got out of these books gave us Capital to start CCK in 2000.
In 2002, Tirutya Samuel opted out and he was replaced with Mr. Bamusute William. Between 2002 and 2005, the Directors were MR Sempa Vicent, Byantuyo George, Isooba Robert, and Bamusute William. In 2007 however, Mr. Isooba Robert was paid out and three directors remained. In 2014 Namuyondo Sempa also asked to leave. He too was paid out in 2016.
Today, Byantuyo George and Bamusute William are the two remaining directors managing the school.
